It’s been very cold here lately. I used the weather as an excuse to give homemade hot cocoa a try. This particular formula is from AllRecipes.
You will need:

- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1/3 cup boiling water
- 3 1/2 cups milk
- 3/4 tsp vanilla extract
In a pot, combine the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt. Add the boiling water (a kettle helps) and mix. Place this mixture over a medium-low heat and keep stirring it. We don’t want the cocoa to scorch or it’ll taste really bad. So we can’t use a high heat and we have to keep it moving.

After a couple of minutes, stir in the milk and let the mixture heat up again until it is very hot. Don’t boil it, though.

When it’s as hot as you’d like it, remove it from the heat and stir in the vanilla. Carefully pour it (a ladle might help) into a mug and enjoy. This recipe makes about a litre, so have some friends around to share it with.

sooo…it looks like it turned out well
definetly gonna try this one soon ! ( by the way..incase your wondering who this is from, i sold you the bars !)
Hi Krista! It did turn out well, yes! As you might have noticed, though, I didn’t use the bars. I’m going to use them later to make homemade instant hot chocolate powder, but I need to pick up some baking chocolate for that too.
